Neighborhood Gallery

4080 Kuhnle Avenue

The quiet suburban community of Leona Heights awaits in the hilltops of Oakland. With an elevation of 325 feet, homeowners can marvel at views of the Bay.

The neighborhood in Almadea County has a population of 3,400 people. While it’s a nice getaway from the fast-paced city life, residents of Leona Heights can commute via bus provided by AC Transit. Leona Heights also offers easy access to the freeway, with the closest being CA-13 and I-580.

The highlight of the neighborhood is Leona Heights Park, where hikers can trek a 2.8-mile loop known as the York Trail. On this dog-friendly trail, hikers and their pups alike can relax and enjoy trickling waterfalls along  Horseshoe Creek. Plus, the park is also a great place to watch the sunset.

While the neighborhood is mostly residential, it’s still a short trip to Safeway grocery store and popular restaurants like Sparky's Giant Burgers and Peet's Coffee.
